Band Camp 2025
Band Camp is almost here!
Our percussion, color guard, and leadership have been working incredibly hard this week to get things ready for the season, and we can't wait for the whole ensemble to join us on Monday!
Make sure you have read the 2025 Band Info Hub information so you come to rehearsal prepared! There is a lot of great season information there and it will be updated as we go.
CALENDAR CHANGE:
According to social media, Senior Night has been moved from Friday, October 31 to Thursday, October 30. This means that the game no longer conflicts with Halloween! The calendar and Info Hub has been updated to reflect this change.
DRUMLINE:
You will be performing before Freshman Orientation on Thursday, August 28th. More information will be coming once Mr. Ross receives it. We have also been asked to perform the morning of the first day of school, and you will also receive info about this when Mr. Ross gets it. In the meantime, make sure you mark your calendars for those two dates!
EVERYONE:
The auditorium renovation is still happening, which means that there will be no access to the auditorium stage or the chorus room until they have completed their work. This means that we will have to be patient as we work around inclement weather and any indoor rehearsal time. They are still working on the hallways around the building and as of August 7th they are waxing the commons area and hallways around the music wing and restrooms.
WHAT DO I BRING TO CAMP?
Students, you should check the Band Info Hub doc for a list of things to bring. You should also check with your section leaders and captains to make sure you have things specific for your section.
ATTENDANCE:
Now that the season is in full swing, we MUST do a good job of attending rehearsals and communicating any possible absences. Please speak with Mr. Ross or your instructors EARLY so that there are not any surprises.
WHY SHOULD I ATTEND EVERYTHING?
1. You get better . . . fast
-
Every rep builds your chops, timing, and endurance.
-
Missing even one day can set you behind on music, drill, or both.
2. The band depends on you
-
Your spot on the field isn’t just “a” spot . . . it’s your spot.
-
If you’re missing, the form is off, the sound is thin, and the whole group feels it.
3. It’s where the good stuff happens
-
The best shows don’t come from luck, they come from hours of together practice.
-
You’ll see and hear the progress, and that’s incredibly satisfying.
4. You learn skills that last beyond high school
-
Teamwork, discipline, leadership, time management are all built here.
-
Colleges and employers love those qualities.
5. You build memories and friendships
-
Inside jokes, bus rides, “that one run-through we nailed”. These moments only happen if you’re there.
6. You respect your own commitment
-
You joined the band for a reason. Showing up proves to yourself you’re all-in, all the time.
-
It’s not just a rehearsal, it’s an investment in something you care about.
Our goal for 2025 is to have consistent attendance at all of our rehearsals and performances. Keep our motto in mind: BE THERE AND BE REMEMBERED.
Thanks, everyone. I am looking forward to an amazing 2025 season!
